Trade Days Boulevard, Suite 400, Canton, 903-567-7985, helps veterans and families apply for VA compensation, pension, DIC, survivors' pension, education, vocational and burial benefits, appeals and lost records; mornings 8:30 to 12:30 on weekdays, and Wednesday afternoons 2:30 to 6:30.

Van Zandt County's mission: "To serve the Veteran and their families by providing assistance, guidance and representation in the application process of VA and state benefits for which they are eligible, advocating for the Veteran and their dependents." "The Veteran Services Office is a department of Van Zandt County. We are not part of the Veterans Administration, nor funded by them. We are your advocate".

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. The office is part-time: the Commissioners Court set the officer's hours at 24 a week in the fiscal 2026 budget.
The Court. The Court approved Operation Green Light for Veterans in November 2025 and moved money to the department for training in April 2026; it keeps the Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial, where a Memorial Day programme is held.
