Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Every Ohio commission must arrange regular transport to the VA medical centres serving the county (Revised Code 5901.03(H); see the Ohio entry). The Trumbull County office has run a van to the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center at Wade Park since 1988, before the State required it, and the office says it takes great honour in veterans taking care of veterans. How it works. The van leaves the office parking lot each weekday at 7 a.m., takes any veteran with a scheduled appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., and returns when all riders are done with their appointments, or by 2:30 p.m. Call in advance to schedule, since seats fill quickly; the office also keeps a 2019 Ford Transit 350XLT that seats 15. A veteran confined to a wheelchair gets door-to-door service coordinated through VA social services. The ride is free, and no rating is needed. The county's own transit. Trumbull County Transit's scheduled fares are $2 each way for senior and disabled riders, with no veteran fare; veterans under 60 ride its medical rate only with a disability.
