Tooele County Parks: Free Lifetime Canyons Pass for Disabled Veterans

A Tooele County resident veteran with an honourable discharge and any service-connected disability gets a free lifetime day-use pass to Middle Canyon and Settlement Canyon, good for up to seven more people in the same vehicle, from the County Auditor; others pay $5 a vehicle a day or $50 a season.

The fee. Tooele County's fee schedule (effective May 19, 2026, re-adopted for parks by Resolution 2026-08 on March 24, 2026) lists, for Middle Canyon and Settlement Canyon: "Disabled Veteran Lifetime Pass (2-canyon) for Day Use Only (Present proof of County residency, proof of honorable discharge, and proof of service-related disability to County Auditor's office. Pass is good for up to 7 additional people in same vehicle.)" at $0. Day use otherwise costs $5 a vehicle, the two-canyon season pass $50, and the senior season pass (60 and over) $25. Camping is not included: overnight camping is $20 a night and group sites and RV hookups are extra. Any rating, for life. Ordinance 2022-20 (June 7, 2022) dropped the old rule that the veteran be rated 50% or more and made the pass a lifetime one, because the 2022 Legislature had removed the 50% requirement from the State's Veterans with Disabilities Honor Pass and "Tooele County desires to remain consistent with the state requirements". The State parks pass is a separate entry. How.
