Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Missouri has no county veterans service officers in statute; the Missouri Veterans Commission's officers do the work (see the Missouri entry). The Commission's service officer locator lists a Houston office record serving "Texas" county alone: Samuel Swihart, Veteran Service Officer, 573-451-3505 ([email protected]), "1st & 3rd Thursday 8am-4pm" and "Call for Appointment", at the address the record gives as 16798 Oak Hill Drive Rd, Houston, MO 65483, under supervisor Chris Butler; the record was last edited May 4, 2026. He works from the St. Robert office at 194 Eastlawn Avenue, Suite E, Room 107C, St. Robert, with Brad Brockman and Sean Matteson (573-451-2674 or 573-451-3505), Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday to noon. The county's page. Texas County's Veterans Info page gives the Commission's phone as (573) 451-2533, "Thursdays 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m." and "Call for Appointment", and warns that in bad weather a veteran should call the St. Robert office at (573) 451-2533 to check whether the officer is coming; "An MVC staff member from the St Robert office will try to make phone contact to the scheduled appointments no later than 8:30 a.m." The page was last edited in 2019, so its weekly hours are older than the Commission's first-and-third-Thursday record; call before going.
