The ordinance. County Code chapter 81 designates the building near Civic Center Boulevard and Butte House Road, completed in 1979, as the Veterans Memorial Community Building, and section 81-020: "Pursuant to the authority contained in Sections 1262 and 1264 of the California Military and Veterans Code, the County of Sutter desires to make the above designated Veterans Memorial Community Building and its facilities available to qualified veterans organizations ... Accordingly, qualified veterans organizations shall be entitled to first priority of use pursuant to the scheduling provisions set out in Section 81-030." The county's page and FAQ. "Qualified Veterans organizations have been given first priority for use of the Veterans Memorial Building. All other users shall be granted use of the main auditorium and the kitchen on a first come, first served basis." The Tucker meeting room at the back "is only available for use to the American Legion, associated Veterans' groups, and County departments for official use." The hall seats about 300 to 400 for dinner. A veterans' organisation, or a family planning a memorial with one, should ask General Services (530-822-7473, 146 Garden Highway, Yuba City) about its schedule; the county publishes no fee schedule on the page.
