The exemption is the State's: Article X, section 8E of the Oklahoma Constitution exempts the homestead of a veteran paid at the 100 percent rate (or the surviving spouse), and Form 998 is the Tax Commission's application (see the Oklahoma entries). The county's part is taking the application, and Stephens County's own page is the account. The Assessor's page. The filing period covers the exemption routes together: "THE FILING PERIOD FOR THE ABOVE EXEMPTIONS/BENEFITS ARE JANUARY 1ST TO MARCH 15TH. PLEASE FURNISH A COPY OF YOUR PREVIOUS YEAR'S INCOME TAX FOR PROOF OF INCOME WHERE APPLICABLE." The same page carries the ordinary homestead ("Name must be on deed and reside on the property January 1st of the current year"), the double homestead ($30,000 or less gross household income), the senior valuation freeze (65 or older at the HUD median-income limit) and the mobile-home personal-property exemption - the veteran routes stand on the VA letter alone.
