Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Public Defender's Office, which helped establish the court, describes the Stanislaus County Veterans Treatment Court as an inter-agency, non-adversarial therapeutic justice programme for veterans in the criminal justice system who suffer post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, military sexual trauma, substance abuse or other psychological symptoms as a result of their service. Participants meet often with a judicial officer, other veterans, treatment providers and mentors, and the court aims to resolve the case through treatment and support. Penal Code sections 1001.80 and 1170.9 are the State's military diversion and treatment statutes; see the California entry. What is not published. The Superior Court's website has no page on the court, and the Public Defender's page gives no eligibility rules, discharge or VA test, calendar or contact. Talk to defence counsel about being assessed; the Veterans Services Office can help with the VA side.
