St. Louis County Veterans Program

St. Louis County's Department of Human Services runs a County Veterans Program that helps veterans and families with VA claims, burial benefits, legal referrals and case management. Missouri does not require counties to have one. Call 314-615-4030.

St. Louis County, MOCounty

Missouri has no statutory county veterans service officer (see the Missouri entry), so this programme is the County's own choice. SLCRO 630.010 places an "Officer of Veterans Affairs" among the programmes run by the Director of Human Services. What it does. The Department of Human Services lists the County Veterans Program's services as referrals, legal assistance, federal, state and private burial assistance, indigent verification, and help with VA eligibility and claims: compensation, pension, Veteran Readiness and Employment, burial allowance, markers and headstones, VA health care enrolment, medical expense reporting, Dependency and Indemnity Compensation and CHAMPVA. It also does case counselling, takes part in the annual Stand Up Stand Down at the Soldiers Memorial.
