24th Judicial Circuit Veterans Treatment Court (St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve and Madison Counties)

St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve and Madison counties are in the 24th Judicial Circuit, which the Office of State Courts Administrator's veterans treatment court map (June 2025, and the January 2024 version before it) shows running a Veterans Treatment Court Program for St. Francois, Madison and Ste. Genevieve counties; the circuit publishes no eligibility or contact of its own, so ask a defence lawyer or the Circuit Clerk in Farmington, Ste. Genevieve or Fredericktown.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

What is published. The Office of State Courts Administrator's map of veterans treatment courts, updated June 2025, shades the 24th Judicial Circuit's St. Francois, Madison and Ste. Genevieve counties as running a "Veterans Treatment Court Program" (Washington County, the circuit's fourth, is not shaded). In its words: "Veterans Treatment Court focuses on addressing the substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, or mental health disorders of defendants charged with a criminal offense who are military veterans or current military personnel." Missouri treatment courts sit under Revised Statutes 478.001 and the circuit's own rules. What is not. Neither the county's site nor the circuit names the court's judge, coordinator, schedule or eligibility rules. A veteran facing charges should ask a defence lawyer to raise it early, or ask the St. Francois County Circuit Clerk, 1 North Washington Street, Farmington (573-756-4551, or 573-431-6505, option 2 then 1). Ste. Genevieve County. The map shades Ste. Genevieve in the January 2024 version (read through the Internet Archive) as in June 2025, and this widening rests on the map: no page or order of the circuit's own naming a veterans docket could be read. The circuit's local rules approved February 24, 2026 (posted by Washington County) define no treatment court at all, Ste. Genevieve County's Circuit Clerk page names none, and the county's Commission minutes of January 5 to October 26, 2026 and agendas to November 2, 2026 carry no veterans court item; no county budget is posted. A Ste. Genevieve County veteran facing charges should ask a defence lawyer to raise the veterans docket early, or ask the Circuit Clerk, Julie Bova, 55 South 3rd Street, Room 23, Ste. Genevieve (573-883-2705, ext. 1; [email protected]). Madison County. The map shades Madison in the January 2024 version (rendered from the Internet Archive's copy and checked) as in June 2025, and this widening rests on the map alone: no page or order of the circuit's own naming a veterans docket could be read. The circuit's local rules approved February 24, 2026 name Madison County's associate judge and terms but define no treatment court, the county's site has no court page beyond its directory, and the only Commission minutes it posts (January 5 and 12, 2026) carry no veterans court item; no county budget is posted. A Madison County veteran facing charges should ask a defence lawyer to raise the veterans docket early, or ask the Madison County Circuit Clerk, Tenia Hermann, at the Madison County Justice Center, 3 Court Square, Fredericktown (573-783-2176, ext. 2).
