Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Wyoming Veterans Commission's page encourages Wyoming veterans to "meet with one of our VSOs to learn about federal and state veterans' benefits, health care, VA disability, and pension claims." Its State Veteran Service Officer line for "Sheridan and Johnson Counties" lists 307-620-0884 at 700 Veterans Ln., Buffalo, WY 82834 - the office sits in Johnson County, one county over, and serves Sheridan County from it. The commission's 2024 benefits booklet names the fourth judicial district's commissioner, Jack Tarter, "4th District, Johnson and Sheridan Counties", at 582 N. DeSmet Ave., Buffalo, 307-620-1999. The county-side helpers. The booklet's Department of Health paragraph: "The Department of Health has a Veterans Benefit Coordinator, courtesy of a private grant, who is a state employee assisting veterans in Johnson and Sheridan County" - the coordinator works out of the Veterans Home of Wyoming in Buffalo. And Sheridan County holds a federal facility the other twenty-two counties lack: the Sheridan VA Medical Center at 1898 Fort Road, on the Fort Mackenzie historic district (local 307-672-3473, toll free 866-822-6714), whose own site points claim help back to the accredited Wyoming Veteran service officers. No county office of its own. No veterans service office of Sheridan County's own is published on sheridancountywy.gov: the elected-offices menus name no such office and no window agenda or minute creates one, so the commission's line is the claims route; the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md.
