The Agendas & Minutes page posts the years as Document Center folders; the window's 583 files (2025 and 2026, agendas, staff packets and minutes) were downloaded and read, the 413 scanned minutes by optical character recognition.
The veteran items, in order:
- May 27, 2025 (special, the General Purpose Excise Tax applicants): At Ease Horsemanship - Matson Tew, Founder - "Requested funding to cover operational costs. This would include leasing boarding horses, as part of their comprehensive program aimed at helping veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors through trauma-informed horsemanship, holistic activities, and peer support"; and CHAPS Equine Assisted Services - Kristen Marcus, Executive Director - "CHAPS had a record year serving 309 individuals across various programs, including therapeutic riding, equine-assisted learning, and mental health initiatives."
- September 16, 2025 (regular): "Commissioner Jennings requesting a moment of silence for September 11th victims and Chairman Wright expanding it to include military heroes."
- September 22, 2025 (staff): "Paul Fall, County Assessor. Mr. Fall emphasized the importance of residents, especially homeowners, registering online from October 1st to February 2nd to qualify for the 25% homeowner discount on 2026 taxes ... He explained that veterans and long-term homeowners have specific registration periods and procedures, with efforts underway to reduce foot traffic at the courthouse through flyers and OR codes."
- November 4, 2025 (regular): "The Courthouse will be closed Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in observance of Veterans' Day." (The November 10 staff minutes repeat the closure - the Parks and Recreation Board meeting "is tomorrow ... and even though the courthouse is closed for Veteran's Day, it will be open for this meeting.")
- November 24, 2025 (staff): "Mr. Fall clarified the status of homeowner exemptions, noting around 2,150 current exemptions and addressing some confusion regarding veterans' and long-term homeowners' benefits. Mr. Fall announced his retirement after 27 years of service, effective January 1, 2026."
- May 18, 2026 (staff): the board was "reminded property owners that the deadline for long-term homeowners and veterans exemptions applications is next Tuesday", and Commissioner Siddle moved to allow "County Assessor, Koko Knudtson, to replace one full-time administrative assistant."
- May 26, 2026 (staff): the office "reminded all that applications for long-term homeowners and veterans' exemptions are due today, urging anyone interested to contact the Assessor's Office for questions or to apply" - the fourth Monday in May deadline the statute fixes.
- October 20, 2026 (agenda): "Consider Memorandum of Understanding between Sheridan County Public Health and Sheridan Veterans Affairs - Health Care System."
No veteran benefit was adopted, narrowed or repealed; the exemption items are the Assessor's administration of the State exemption, the closures and the moment are observances, and the memorandum is an agreement between the county health department and the federal medical center in Sheridan for consideration.
