Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Missouri has no county veterans service officers in statute; the Missouri Veterans Commission's officers do the work (see the Missouri entry). The Commission's service officer locator's office record lists the Hannibal office at 203 North 6th Street, Hannibal, MO 63401, first floor, serving "Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Clark, Shelby" counties: John Simpson, Veteran Service Officer ([email protected]), 573-248-2550, Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to noon, under supervisor Arthur Nott-Hopkins. The record was last edited March 7, 2025, so call ahead. The office is in Marion County, east of Shelby; the Shelby County site names no local outreach day (Clark County's site posts a monthly courthouse day for the same officer, so ask whether one is held in Shelbyville). What the help is. Free claims help with VA compensation, pension, survivor and burial benefits, and appeals. No rating is needed to ask.
