Scurry County Veterans Services: No County Officer

Scurry County keeps no county veterans service officer: its site, County Directory and 2027 budget name none, and TexVet's statewide list sends Scurry County veterans to the Texas Veterans Commission's Dallas office (214-857-0444); ask the Commission where its nearest counselor sees West Texas veterans.

Also called: VSO, CVSO, Veterans Service Officer, Texas Veterans Commission, TVC Dallas, 214-857-0444, County Welfare, 434.032, Snyder, Hermleigh, Ira, Fluvanna.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, child, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

No county officer. Scurry County's site has no veterans page, its sitemap and County Directory name no veterans office, and the 2027 official budget (adopted August 18, 2026, $30,151,507 in all) has no veterans department: the General Fund runs from the County Judge through the courts, Sheriff, Health Unit, County Welfare (department 640, which pays indigent transportation and medical fees), Library, Senior Center, Parks and Extension Service. None of the year's agendas or minutes names a veterans officer. A county of under 200,000 people is not required to keep one (Government Code 434.032; see the Texas entry). Where to go. TexVet's county list gives, for Scurry, the "Texas Veterans Commission Dallas Office" at (214) 857-0444. The Commission's claims counselors help any veteran free (see the Texas entry); its county directory is not open to automated reading, so call the Commission or the County Judge's office (325-573-9316) to learn where Scurry County veterans are seen.
