33rd Judicial Circuit Veterans Treatment Court (Scott and Mississippi Counties)

Scott and Mississippi counties make up the 33rd Judicial Circuit, which the Office of State Courts Administrator's veterans treatment court map (January 2024) shades as running a Veterans Treatment Court Program, so this entry carries Mississippi too; the circuit publishes no veteran docket rules, and the Scott County Circuit Clerk's page gives the treatment court administrator's numbers (573-427-0808, Benton 573-545-4459, Charleston 573-683-2146 ext. 253).

What is published. The Office of State Courts Administrator's map of veterans treatment courts, updated January 2024, shades both counties of the 33rd Judicial Circuit - Scott and Mississippi - as running a "Veterans Treatment Court Program". In its words: "Veterans Treatment Court focuses on addressing the substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, or mental health disorders of defendants charged with a criminal offense who are military veterans or current military personnel." Missouri treatment courts sit under Revised Statutes 478.001; see the Missouri entry. The entry rests on that archived map alone: no court page or order of the circuit's own names the veterans docket, and the live map answers 403. What the county's pages give. The Scott County Circuit Clerk's page lists a "Treatment Court Administrator" at 573-427-0808, with Benton 573-545-4459 and Charleston 573-683-2146 extension 253, and Specialized Court Services at [email protected]; it does not say which dockets they run. The Commission's agendas of October 2025 to October 2026 carry no veterans court item. A veteran facing charges in Scott County should ask a defence lawyer to raise the veterans docket early, or call the treatment court administrator or the Circuit Clerk, 131 S. New Madrid Street, Benton. Mississippi County. The same map shades Mississippi, the circuit's other county (the January 2024 copy rendered from the Internet Archive and checked again for this widening). It rests on that map alone: no page or order of the circuit's own naming the veterans docket could be read, and Mississippi County posts no minutes or budget that could show one. The county's Services directory lists a Drug Court under Judge Raymond Brownlee ([email protected]) with Stephanie Lemmons ([email protected]) and no veterans docket; ask there, or at the treatment court administrator's Charleston number above, whether a veteran is taken into a veterans track. A Mississippi County veteran facing charges should ask a defence lawyer to raise it early, or call Circuit Clerk Christina Turner, Mississippi County Courthouse, 200 N. Main Street, Charleston (573-683-2146, ext. 225).
