The record, in the Board's minutes of October 17, 2025 through October 16, 2026:
- December 19, 2025 (Resolution No. 111, voice vote carried): "RESOLUTION TO CREATE AND FUND A VETERAN'S RESERVE". The Treasurer is "to create Veterans Reserve Account. At years end, any funds in the Veterans Revenue A.6510.402705.2711 be placed in the Veterans Reserve. Additionally fund the Veterans Reserve with $4,009.78 from donations previously received and deposited in Veterans Donation Revenue A.6510.402705.2711 in 2024. These funds are to be used in support of veterans."
- February 20, 2026: with the county's service officer gone, the County Administrator: "when veterans call, we will ask them to call neighboring counties VSOs until we have something in place ... Until we have a VSO we will push them to another county."
- March 20, 2026: a veteran who helped start the Leatherstocking Honor Flights in the county in 2008 and Homeward Bound Adirondacks told the Board of their retreats and asked to run the Joseph P. Dwyer peer programme in the county. The Board then voted (Motion #78) "to eliminate the Veterans Service Office and create the Veterans Service Agency under Office for the Aging", (Motion #79) to replace the Veteran's Affairs Director with "a Director of Veterans Service under the Office for the Aging", and (Motion #82, carried with three opposed) "to set a pay grade 15, $54,072, for the Director of Veteran's Services", after supervisors objected that the grade 13 first proposed ($48,500, against $61,000 before) would not draw a qualified officer.
- April 17, 2026: the County Administrator announced the Veteran Digital Access Hub: "The state has given us a computer, webcam and other equipment ... We are providing the space at the Annex ... Schoharie County will be the first in the state to offer this program", at no cost to the county.
- August 21, 2026: Motion #219 signed the Office of Community Services and Office for the Aging memorandum "for the Peer to Peer Dwyer Veteran's Program"; Motion #230 created "a Veteran's Peer Support Specialist in OFA" at CSEA grade 11.
- September 18, 2026 (minutes a scan, read by OCR): air rifles "previously purchased by the Veterans Department" ($4,458.55 new retail) went to the Schoharie County Conservation Club (Motion #245), and $550 of veterans' donations was budgeted to "Veterans Support".
- October 16, 2026: "Motion #274 ... to table the request for the veterans' tax exemption. Voice vote carried." The minutes do not say what the request would change.
No veteran benefit was narrowed or repealed in the window.
