The record. The County Clerk posts the Court's written minutes on sanjac-clerk.com; the 40 minutes of August 6, 2025 through September 30, 2026 were read whole, with the agendas posted under Public Notices. The Court sits as County Judge Fritz Faulkner and Commissioners Luke Sweeney, Donny Marrs, Crystal Dominy and Mark Nettuno. The veteran items: - Each monthly meeting: the departmental reports, among them "N. Veteran's Officer", are approved together. On June 24, 2026 the motion approved the reports "except District Clerk and Veterans"; the minutes give no reason, and the reports themselves are not in the posted minutes. - November 12, 2025, the judge's comments: "Great turnout for Veterans Day celebration at Courthouse, Shepherd ROTC came over." - April 1 and April 29, 2026: Judge Faulkner resigned from the Burke Center board, which "is looking at a veteran"; on April 29 (item 10) the Court appointed "Commissioner Sweeney as a Veteran to replace Fritz on the Burke Center Board" (the regional mental health authority). - September 9, 2026, budget hearing: the 2026-2027 budget approved with the Veteran Service Officer department at $38,954.10, with a raise for the officer and a new part-time line (see the office entry). No veteran benefit was adopted, narrowed or repealed.
