Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Alabama Administrative Office of Courts' map of veterans courts, revised in 2026, names Russell County among its veterans courts, and the County Commission's minutes show it operating: on October 22, 2025 four commissioners (Screws, Costello, Darty and Corbett) each moved $750 of their project money to the Veterans Treatment Court, $3,000 all told, carried unanimously. What is not published. The AOC lists veterans courts with its other accountability courts but gives no per-court eligibility, contact or process, the county's own site does not describe the court, and the 26th Circuit's site names none either. A veteran facing charges should ask a defence lawyer to raise it early, or ask the Russell County Veterans Service Office (334-298-7767) for the coordinator's contact.
