Red River County Veterans Services: No County Officer, an Unfunded Budget Line

Red River County keeps no county veterans service officer: its site names none, and its FY2027 budget carries an "Exp - Vet Serv Officer" department with no money in it, as in each year back to 2024; TexVet sends county veterans to the Texas Veterans Commission's Marshall office (903-935-8415).

Also called: VSO, CVSO, Veterans Service Officer, Vet Serv Officer, Texas Veterans Commission, TVC Marshall, 903-935-8415, 434.032, Clarksville, Bogata, Detroit, Annona, Avery.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, child, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

No county officer. Red River County's site has no veterans page and names no veterans office among its county offices. The FY2027 approved budget (fiscal year 2026-2027), adopted September 29, 2026 with every member voting for it, keeps a General Fund line "Exp - Vet Serv Officer" (010-405-998) after the County Clerk's department, but with no amount requested or approved for 2027, none budgeted for 2026 and nothing spent in 2025 or 2024. None of the year's agendas names a veterans officer. A county of under 200,000 people is not required to keep one (Government Code 434.032; see the Texas entry). Where to go. TexVet's county list gives, for Red River, the "Texas Veterans Commission Marshall Office" at 903-935-8415. The Commission's claims counselors help any veteran free (see the Texas entry); its county directory is not open to automated reading, so call the Commission or the County Judge's office (903-427-2680) to learn where Red River County veterans are seen.
