Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Mo. Rev. Stat. 59.480 makes the recording of a discharge free and limits who may see or copy it; see the Missouri entry. The Recorder's page lists among its duties "Recording land instruments, including deeds of trust, affidavits, releases, power of attorneys, plats and surveys, military discharge records (DD214) and others", and says recording "can be done in person in our office or by mail", with a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return. Its fee list ($24 the first page and $3 each further page to record, $1 a page for copies, $1 to certify) is for land records and has no discharge line; the statute keeps a discharge and its copies free, and a veteran charged for either should cite section 59.480. The page posts no request form; copies go only to the veteran or an authorized party on the Recorders Association of Missouri's notarized form. Where.
