Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Racine County Veterans Services is at the Dennis Kornwolf Service Center, 1717 Taylor Avenue, Racine, phone (262) 638-6702, email [email protected]. The CVSO is Shawn Rivers, an Air Force veteran of 1994-2015, with assistant CVSOs Josh Buisch and Aimee Hooper. A satellite office serves Burlington on Wednesdays by appointment. The county's own description of its aid: "Short-Term Financial Assistance ... Payments are made directly to landlords or utility companies on the veteran's behalf" - the county's way of running the 45.86 levy framework, with no published application or dollar schedule; start at the office. The office's other faces. It runs a Veteran of the Month recognition program with a nomination form; it houses the county's workforce priority-of-service for veterans ("all veterans receive priority of service at Racine County Workforce Solutions", with a DVOP co-located); and it verifies eligibility for the state property tax credit under 71.07(6e) - the county treasurer's page sends claimants to the CVSO at Taylor Avenue. The register of deeds records discharges without charge under section 45.05, though the county's recording pages do not advertise it. The county site is behind an Akamai block that neither curl nor an automated browser passed, so this entry rests on the Internet Archive's captures of the county's pages from December 2025 to June 2026 and on the state CVSO directory, read live. Racine County hosts the Second Judicial District's veterans treatment court hearings - see the county's veterans treatment court entry.
