The commissioners declared the necessity for a 2025 StarTrans Senator II shuttle bus with a Ford E450 chassis on November 6, 2025 and bought it from TESCO of Oregon, Ohio on the state's cooperative contract for $98,412 (resolution 25-0604), paid from the Veterans Services Department's own general fund. A 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander for $51,177 from Toyota of Kent followed on September 10, 2026 (resolution 26-0462) - after the board tabled the purchase twice to ask what it was for; the answer was the new outreach coordinator, backup seats for VA trips to Cleveland, Brimfield and Akron, and hauling to outreach events - and the same meeting declared the 2016 Ford Transit 150 obsolete for private sale (resolution 26-0463). The county's own transit.
