Pike County (Arkansas) Collector: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

Pike County's tax collector, Sheriff Travis Hill ex officio, in Murfreesboro ((870) 285-3121), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; the county's site says nothing about it, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's, under section 26-3-306, as the Arkansas entry on the disabled veteran property tax exemption explains: no tax on the home, its land and personal property for a veteran VA rates 100% permanent and total or pays special monthly compensation for the loss or loss of use of a limb or blindness, carried on by an unremarried surviving spouse and minor children. Act 876 of 2025 added to section 26-3-306(b) that the VA letter "is required to be submitted only one (1) time" and that "annual submission of a letter from the department is not required", from the 2025 assessment year, so long as you tell the collector if you stop qualifying or move. File again for a new home. The office. The county's directory lists Travis Hill as both County Sheriff and County Collector: the Collector at P.O. Box 217, Murfreesboro, AR 71958, (870) 285-3121, [email protected]. Neither the directory nor the Assessor's page says anything about the disabled veteran exemption. Bring the VA letter to the Collector, or have the veterans service officer ((870) 285-2249) help with it. The county names Staci Stewart as Assessor ((870) 285-3316); the State portal still names Beckie Alden at the same number.
