Perry County (Arkansas) Collector: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

The Perry County Collector, in Perryville ((501) 889-5285), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; the county's page says nothing about it, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.

Also called: property tax, collector, DAV exemption, 26-3-306, homestead, personal property, Act 876, VA letter, Ricky Jones, Scott Montgomery, 501-889-5285, [email protected], Perryville, Adona, Bigelow, Casa, Fourche, Houston, Perry.

For: Veteran or service member, child, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's, under section 26-3-306, as the Arkansas entry on the disabled veteran property tax exemption explains: no tax on the home, its land and personal property for a veteran VA rates 100% permanent and total or pays special monthly compensation for the loss or loss of use of a limb or blindness, carried on by an unremarried surviving spouse and minor children. Act 876 of 2025 added to section 26-3-306(b) that the VA letter "is required to be submitted only one (1) time" and that "annual submission of a letter from the department is not required", from the 2025 assessment year, so long as you tell the collector if you stop qualifying or move. File again for a new home. The county's page. The Collector's page explains that the office collects property taxes from March 1 to October 15, but says nothing about the disabled veteran exemption. Bring the VA letter to the Collector, or have the veterans service officer ((501) 889-2096) help with it. The Assessor, Amanda Hawkins ((501) 889-2865), handles the homestead credit. The office.
