Page County Disabled Veteran Vehicle Tax Exemption

Page County cut its personal property rate to $3.80 for 2026 - the second consecutive reduction - and applies the statewide one-vehicle exemption through the Commissioner of the Revenue in a file-by-exception county.

Also called: car tax, personal property, vehicle tax, Page car tax, 100% disabled, TDIU.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Page County applies the statewide one-vehicle exemption through the Commissioner of the Revenue: one motor vehicle owned and used primarily by or for a veteran rated 100% service-connected, permanent and total is exempt. The county's pages publish no separate vehicle-exemption form or rule, so the state entries govern and the office at 540-743-3840 is the route. The 2026 tangible personal property rate is $3.80 per $100 - on the county's 2026 Tax Rates page (machinery and tools $1.50, motor carriers $1.50, mobile homes $0.52, aircraft $0.50 alongside) and in the FY 2027 adopted budget message, which records the Board "reducing the personal property tax rate from $4.30 to $3.80 per $100 of assessed value", the second consecutive year of reduction. The county is a file-by-exception locality that updates vehicle records from DMV data weekly. The state's car-tax relief applies to the first $20,000 of a qualifying vehicle's value, and the county's own Personal Property Tax Relief page describes that relief's $1,001-to-$20,000 bands.
