Orleans Parish Assessor: Veteran Exemption (site unreadable)

The Orleans Parish Assessor administers the State’s veteran exemption tiers, but its own site answers 403 to every automated fetch, so no parish application text could be read.

Also called: property tax, assessor, homestead exemption, Form A25, gap.

For: Veteran or service member, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's, under La. Const. art. VII, section 21, as the State entries explain: the tiers run 50 to 69 percent ($2,500 of additional assessed value), 70 to 99 percent ($4,500), and 100 percent or total unemployability (the remaining value), claimed with a current Form A25 from the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs. What could not be read. The Orleans Parish Assessor's site, orleansassessor.com (also nolaassessor.com), serves a Cloudflare challenge to every automated fetch, so no parish exemption text, office address or phone could be read. An Orleans claimant should go through the LDVA parish service office above for the Form A25 and contact the assessor through the City of New Orleans directory.
