Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Orange County has no county government of its own; the state's county offices are the elected State's Attorney and the sheriff. The State's Attorney's staff list on the Department of State's Attorneys and Sheriffs' site - the office at 30 Upper Village Road, PO Box 116, Chelsea, recording Colin Seaman as interim State's Attorney alongside an administrative assistant and a victim advocate - names no veteran role. The sheriff's department (Sheriff George Contois, 11 VT Route 113, Chelsea) publishes its own site, whose three pages cover contracted town patrols, civil paperwork delivery, court and correctional facility transports, special events security, special permits, fingerprinting and VIN verifications, and name no veteran programme; its staff directory - a captain, a corporal, three deputies and two dispatchers under Sheriff Contois - names no veteran role either. The claims route the State publishes is the Office of Veterans Affairs' certified service officers, who serve every county from Montpelier by appointment at 802-828-1082; the Office is at 118 State Street, Montpelier, (802) 828-3379, toll free in Vermont (888) 666-9844, office hours Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Office also verifies eligibility for the disabled veteran property tax exemption, applied for through the Office and not through any local office. For an Orange County veteran in crisis, the Office's own crisis page names two 24-hour local lines in the county, Bradford and Randolph, both (800) 639-6360, alongside 988 then 1, 911 and 211. No veterans treatment docket sits in the county: the Judiciary's current list carries no veterans track anywhere in the state, and no treatment docket at all is listed for Orange.
