Recording discharges. The County Clerk records DD-214s free, as Military Law 250 requires; the Map Department takes the filings (845-291-3284), and a permanent certified copy can be had later. A county photo identification card under the Orange County Veteran's Discount Program, issued to a veteran who brings proof of military service and residency to the Clerk's office, weekdays 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; the card comes with an updated list of participating vendors offering discounts.
