The published schedule: Monday through Friday service to the Toms River Veterans Clinic (call Ocean Ride at (732) 736-8989, ext. 1, up to four weeks ahead); Monday a.m. and Thursday p.m. to the Veterans Medical Center, East Orange; Tuesday to Lyons Veterans Medical Center; Wednesdays (alternate a.m. and p.m.) to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Philadelphia; Friday to the Burlington Veterans Clinic in Marlton. Out-of-county trips are booked through the Veterans Service Bureau at (732) 929-2096, preferably two weeks before the appointment. Departures are from centralized pick-up locations throughout the county, including the Ocean County Administration Building, with limited home pick-ups on a case-by-case basis for mobility needs.
Funding. The board authorized a grant application to the State of New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs for the FY2026/2027 Veterans Transportation Grant (June 17, 2026) and a $30,000 amendment to the 2026 budget for the program (July 29, 2026). Ocean Ride also partners with Vetwork, a nonprofit in Forked River, (609) 971-7613, which is not county government.
