The Ocean County Clerk's veteran services page: "Schedule an appointment online to register your DD-214 or Honorable Discharge papers to obtain a Veteran Card or a Veteran Peddler's License." Honorably discharged veterans residing in Ocean County "can now obtain a free photo card from the Ocean County Clerk's Office. With this card, there is no doubt about the holder's veteran status," on presentation of the DD-214 or other honorable-discharge papers. The page warns the cards "are not designed to replace federal veteran identification needed to access government programs such as VA hospitals and clinics. It is also not a REAL ID." Discharges previously filed with the clerk "are available upon request at no charge for the Veteran" as certified copies. Veterans residing in Ocean County may apply for a Veteran Peddler's License at the clerk's offices (the state right itself is the State entry, N.J.S.A. 45:24-9).
