Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Nye County Veterans Banner Program honors the county's past and present servicemen and women, flying their name and photograph on banners at the Calvada Eye outside the county Administration building in Pahrump (2100 E. Walt Williams Drive) and at the William P. Beko Justice Complex in Tonopah (101 Radar Road), alongside "Missing in Action / Prisoner of War" and "Nye County Honors Our Heroes" banners. The program is paid for by the county's Veterans Service Fund, and the page credits Commissioner Butch Borasky, who retired in December 2017, with starting it. Who can be honored (page read 2026-10-21). A present or past member of the U.S. Armed Forces who is a current, former or deceased resident of Nye County and whose discharge was honorable; the applicant is the veteran or the closest living relative, and family and friends may nominate. The county keeps the final say on eligibility. The 2026-27 cycle. Applications open October 1, 2026 and close December 3, 2026 at 12:00 noon. The fillable application is posted on the county site and can be filed at either Administration office or emailed to [email protected] with supporting documents and photographs. The fund behind it. The Banner Program page names the county Veterans Service Fund as the source of the banners' cost, and the Board's August 4, 2026 agenda routes the Veterans Service Office funding through the same account - fund 10210, the Veterans Services Fund (see the Nye County Veterans Service Office entry). So the fund is the county's standing vehicle for veteran programs, not a one-off line. On that same August 4, 2026 agenda the Board, sitting as the governing body of the unincorporated Town of Pahrump, took item 15, Town of Pahrump Resolution No. 2026-01, to dissolve the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee - the recognition body that had sat under the PahrumpNV.gov committee list; its removal is board business noted here for the record, not a benefit.
