Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Norwich’s assessor page lists the veterans’ exemption on a discharge filed with the City Clerk, the additional veterans’ exemption for a veteran or spouse under income requirements, the disability exemption by rating, raised to the 100 percent amount for a veteran over 65, and the 12-81(83) dwelling exemption, claimed in person before January 1 each year with the latest VA benefit letter. It prints no amounts; its income link is OPM’s memo of December 12, 2024, which sets $45,200 single and $55,100 married for the 2025 grand list and lets a local option use the same limits. Code § 7-27, enacted under P.A. 03-44 (C.G.S. 12-81f) and last amended by Ord. No. 1612 on April 20, 2009, gives a veteran entitled under 12-81(19) whose income does not exceed the 12-81l amount an additional $10,000 off assessed value, from the October 1, 2009 assessment year. OLR’s 2023 survey reported the same $10,000 at the state limits. Code § 7-27a, enacted under P.A. 17-65 (C.G.S. 12-81ii), gives a resident parent of a child killed in action on active duty, or the surviving spouse of a person killed in action, up to $10,000 or 10 percent of assessed value, whichever is less, for income under the 12-81l amount for an unmarried person, from the October 1, 2018 assessment year.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
