North Brookfield Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

North Brookfield’s assessors post the Commonwealth’s Form 96-4 and the Department of Revenue’s guide with no amount of the town’s own, so this entry gives the statute’s; its Veterans Services Office is the town’s own chapter 115 administrator, Holly Kularski the Veterans Agent, whose office hours are Tuesday evenings.

Also called: property tax, clause 22, 22E, veterans exemption, assessors, North Brookfield.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of North Brookfield grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. The Board of Assessors’ page names Brandon Avery the chair, James Arcese the vice chair and Justine Floria the clerk, three elected assessors sharing the line 508-867-0209, at 215 North Main Street, hours Monday through Thursday 8 am to 2 pm and Tuesday evenings 5 to 7 pm, and prints the fiscal 2026 tax rate of $11.96; it says "Exemptions are available to those individuals that meet the various requirements as of July 1st in the fiscal year of application", with no amount of the town’s own. The Exemption Applications & Brochures page posts a "Veterans Exemption Application" that is the Commonwealth’s State Tax Form 96-4, revised July 2019, and a "Veterans Exemption Guide" that is the Department of Revenue’s Taxpayer’s Guide to Local Property Tax Exemptions, and no acceptance of clause 22I or 22J was found on the town’s site, so the figures here are the statute’s. The Veterans Services page names Holly Kularski the Veterans Agent: "The Veterans Services Office is open on Tuesday evenings from 5 - 7 pm or by appointment anytime the Town Offices are open during the week. Please call 508-867-0205 and leave a message or email [email protected]", at Town Offices, 215 North Main Street - the office the EOVS directory’s September 7, 2026 row lists on the North Brookfield row with the same number and e-mail, and on the New Braintree and Oakham rows it also serves. The page’s links are state and federal resources - the chapter 115 benefit calculator, the HERO Act note, the VA and the Massachusetts Veterans’ Bonus - and the town’s Persian Gulf Era notice asks its veterans to file DD-214s with the clerk. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through North Brookfield Veterans Services: Holly Kularski, Veterans Agent. Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
