Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The North Carolina Judicial Branch lists New Hanover (District 6) among the counties with an operating veterans treatment court. These courts work with veterans "with a substance use, mental health, or co-occurring disorder" and repeated offences, connecting them with the benefits and treatment their service earned under court supervision, using the adult treatment court standards and the ten key components of veterans treatment courts. Neither the Judicial Branch nor New Hanover County publishes a page for this court, its eligibility rules or a contact, so no discharge or rating test is stated. Entry comes through the criminal case: a veteran charged in New Hanover County should ask the defence lawyer or the assistant district attorney about referral, or ask New Hanover County Veteran Services (910-798-7611) for the court's contact.
