Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission Dental Assistance Program
A voucher for one routine dental examination and cleaning a year at a participating dentist, for a Montgomery County veteran of 90 days with a general discharge or better who holds the county Recorder's veteran ID card and has met a service officer in the last two years.
Also called: dental, dentist, teeth cleaning, dental voucher, x-ray, fluoride.
The Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission pays for an annual routine dental visit for a veteran in need, at one of seven participating dentists in Dayton, Kettering, Miamisburg and Centerville listed on its page. The voucher covers a basic examination, a basic cleaning, and bite-wing or panoramic X-rays and fluoride where the dentist recommends them, and nothing more.
Who qualifies, under the commission's own rules. A veteran with at least one discharge characterized general or better, who served at least one day of active duty outside training or now receives VA compensation or pension, who has met a service officer at the commission within the two years before the voucher is issued, who holds a Montgomery County veteran ID card from the County Recorder, and who has lived in the county at least 90 days. The ID card is the commission's condition, not the statute's; it is free at the Recorder once the DD-214 is recorded there (see the Recorder entry). The annual report describes the programme as serving low-income veterans; it spent $3,526 on it in 2025.
Apply with the veteran application and liability waiver on the commission's dental page.
