The office holds forms, information and referrals for the federal side: service-connected compensation, non-service-connected pension, hospital and outpatient medical care, education benefits, burial benefits and the home loan guarantee; and for the State of South Dakota: the State Veterans Home, education benefits, burial benefits and the state bonus program.

For veterans unable to come into the office because of disability or health, the Veterans Service Officer will arrange a visit to the nursing home, hospital or other location, and the officer is available for presentations building awareness of veteran benefits.
