Veterans' Park is Mineral County's memorial ground in Hawthorne, and the Board of County Commissioners' 2026 records show the county tending it three ways. The flag. The Board's May 6, 2026 agenda carries item 14: "For consideration and possible action relative to purchasing a new flag for Veteran's Park." The money. The amended agenda of July 15, 2026 carries an NDOT item: "For consideration and possible action relative to signing amendment requesting additional funding for the remaining 2 years of contract for Veteran's Park." The park's upkeep rides on a contract with amendment requests through the State's roads department, and the county's signature keeps it funded through the remaining two years. The grounds in use. The Board's March 18, 2026 agenda carries item 11, Amy Murray of Consolidated Agencies of Human Services: "For consideration and possible action relative to the use of Veterans' Park for the annual Child Abuse Awareness Day Event on April 4, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, and approval of the closure of 10th Street" - the park doubles as the county's event ground, with a street closure to match. For a veteran in Hawthorne the park is the county's own memorial space, maintained through the Board's items above; no separate veteran programme attaches to it in the county's records.
