The county's own statement: "This office is a county service for the veterans of Midland County, Michigan, and their family members. We offer a full range of benefits to assist in filing for Federal, State, and County Veterans programs. It is our goal to obtain the maximum benefits available, simplify the process for the client and refer those who need other services to the appropriate agencies. We strongly recommend that you contact our office by phone to obtain a list of the necessary documents or supporting evidence for completion of applications and claims. We want to save you time, expedite the process, and reduce any inconvenience to veterans and family members we serve."
Who to reach. "Midland County Veteran Affairs Director - Kevin Meyer, Phone: (989) 832-6843, Fax: (989) 832-6835" and "Field Service Officer - Renee Frank, Phone: (989) 832-6847". The page links the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (michigan.gov/mvaa) and Michigan Veterans Homes (michigan.gov/mvh) for State benefits.
The county's veterans pages also carry the Veterans Events calendar and the Midland County Veterans Memorials: "Both the Midland and Coleman Veteran's Memorials are now available in an interactive GIS map, where you can view the paver bricks at both sites." The GIS Department mapped "over 3,000 paver bricks at each site" by drone so the bricks' inscriptions are searchable online, and a veteran's family can "Order a paver to honor a Veteran by placing their information at the Midland County Veteran's Memorial on two different size pavers" - a 4"x8" or an 8"x8" paver ordered by form and check.
The Board's year. The Administration & Operations Committee put a Resolution Supporting Operation Green Light for Veterans before the Board on November 4, 2025 (item 91-10-25AO) and again on October 20, 2026 (item 103-10-26AO). On March 3, 2026 the Board took item 16-2-26AO: "an agreement with the Midland Area Community Foundation to establish an endowment fund for the Midland County Specialty Courts." A Buffalo Wild Wings fundraiser ticket for the Midland County Specialty Courts (20 percent of the bill, Monday, April 6, 2026, 6728 Eastman Ave.) is posted among the Board's documents. The minutes are not posted; the County Clerk (989-832-6739) is the route to them.
