The Board's record. The October 14, 2025 commission minutes: "RE: RESOLUTION - OPERATION GREEN LIGHT FOR VETERANS 2025. This day on motion of Greg Puckett, Commissioner, seconded by Brian Blankenship, Commissioner, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the Resolution for Operation Green Light for Veterans 2025." The campaign is the National Association of Counties' November initiative lighting county buildings green for veterans' transition home; the resolution itself names no funding, programme or eligibility, so the entry records the adoption and the campaign.
The same meeting's memorials. The consent calendar carried a resolution of recognition for Isaac Norris Kantor, "one of southern West Virginia's most highly respected litigators, a former US Air Force Judge Advocate General and long-time member of the US Army Military Reserve unit based in Bluefield", who died July 18, 2025 at 96; and the meeting's tax adjustments include lines marked "Active military" (an East River district account abated $256.04 to $299.14 across 2022-2024), the assessor's working of the active-duty personal property exemption.
