What it does, in the county's words: "Our Veterans Services Representatives are thoroughly trained and accredited by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to represent you. Mendocino County Veterans Services Representatives are not employees of the Federal government; they are County employees ready to assist you with any Veterans claim. They will assist you in securing the maximum benefits available." VA telehealth in Fort Bragg. The office hosts the VA's Accessing Telehealth through Local Area Stations (ATLAS) site, a private room with equipment for a VA Video Connect visit with a San Francisco VA provider, so a coast veteran does not drive to Ukiah or Santa Rosa. The San Francisco VA told the Board on May 19, 2026 that about 807 veterans live within 15 miles of the site and the nearest VA facility is otherwise 57 miles away; the station offers primary care and mental health on Tuesdays and Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with veteran volunteers as attendants; it was set to open in June 2026, and the county's page now lists it as available. Book the visit through the VA care team, or ask the Fort Bragg office. The City of Fort Bragg took over running the hall under a three-year licence the Board approved on September 15, 2026; the office and the station stay in the building.
