Its responsibilities: "Our main function is to assist in dealing with the Department of Veterans Affairs, such as filing of claims for compensation and/or pensions, filing for medical reimbursement, applying for medical treatment at Veterans medical centers, etc." Where and when. 308 W 7th Street, Columbia, TN 38401; phone 931-375-1510 or 931-375-1511; hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Director Mark Lewis answers 931-375-1510 and Veteran Service Officer Lisa Von Hagen 931-375-1514; the office posts news - "Veteran Services is back at the Memorial Building!!" - and links a "Maury Vets" Facebook page and an option to donate to the office. The county commission. The commission's "Agendas & Minutes with Video" link leads to a ChampDS video archive (play.champds.com/maurycotn); its Commission category lists no programs for 2026, and the county's own page posts no agenda files, so ask the County Clerk's Office, 1 Public Square, Columbia, 931-381-3690, for the commission's actions. No county match under 67-5-701(j) is published, the county's wheel tax is what the State entry's exemption nets against, and the Register of Deeds states no rule beyond 10-7-513.

Thresholds

Thresholds for Maury County Veterans Services
GateRule
Permanent and total, as VA determines itMaury County. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
Or a named loss, at any ratingParaplegia or permanent paralysis of both legs and the lower body, legal blindness, or loss or loss of use of two or more limbs from a service-connected cause qualifies whatever the combined rating, as does one hundred percent permanent total disability from having been a prisoner of war. The state entry on disabled veteran property tax relief sets out the routes.
Maury County veterans and widows of veteransFree; no rating is needed.
