Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The assessor’s tax exemptions page requires veterans to present original separation paperwork to the Town Clerk prior to October 1, for new filers, and a disability ratings letter annually to the assessor until age 65. It prints qualifying income limits of less than $46,300 for singles and $56,500 for married couples for the special tax reduction programs available to low-income, blind, or disabled veterans, and directs claimants to applications available in the assessor’s office. Commencing with the October 1, 2025 grand list, a veteran with a 100 percent total and permanent rating must file application form D-2 with the assessor on or before January 1. The military exemptions page quotes C.G.S. 12-93 as amended by Public Act 24-46 and 25-168 and accepts applications and updated Summary of Benefits letters from October 1 through January 1. Mansfield answered OLR’s 2023 survey recording a $2,000 additional exemption for wartime veterans and 30-year retirees at the OPM income limits, the 12-81g(b) tripling for veterans rated 100 percent, and the specially adapted house option. Its pages print no amounts, so those rest on the survey.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
