Where it applies

Lubbock County maintains a Veteran's Affairs office, its veterans county service office under Government Code 434.032; see the Texas entry. The county's website publishes no page for it - a site search for "veteran" returns only the budget book and a 2010 agenda - so what is known comes from the county's own budget documents. The FY 2025 adopted budget, under Health and Welfare, describes the office: "responsible for assisting veterans with federal programs of Veteran's benefits for veterans, their families, and survivors. Lubbock County supports one clerical position." Its department head is "Lubbock County Veteran's Affairs Director - Nick Sisk". The office's general-fund budget was $70,110 in fiscal 2023, $76,702 in 2024 and $78,177 in 2025, personnel only, and the FY 2027 budget workbook carries department 070, Veteran's Affairs, at $81,711. The General Fund also carries a "Jury donations for veterans" revenue line (011-482300): $120 in 2022-2023, $19,216 in 2023-2024 and zero budgeted for 2024-2025. The Commission's office. The Texas Veterans Commission's 2025 directory of veterans county service officers lists Lubbock County's, and the county's officers have historically worked out of the Commission's field office in the Lubbock VA outpatient clinic: the Commission's 2022 directory, with the county's seat vacant, sent veterans to the clinic office at 6104 Avenue Q South Drive, Room 132, Lubbock, Texas 79412; 806-472-3490; fax 806-472-3493; weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., whose contact was Nick Sisk ([email protected]) - the same person the county's budget names as its Veteran's Affairs Director. A veteran who cannot reach the county office can call the clinic office or the Commission at 1-800-252-8387. Where. The county's offices are in the Lubbock County Courthouse, 904 Broadway, Lubbock; the county's main number is 806-775-1200; the County Judge is Curtis Parrish. The Commissioners Court meets at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Mondays. Its Legistar records from September 2025 through August 2026 hold no veteran programme business.
