Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

County Code section 10.20.035 charges a disabled veteran the reduced dog or cat license rate if the animal is sterilized or exempt from sterilization, and the fee schedule in section 10.90.010 sets the disabled veteran dog license at $7.50, against $20 for an altered dog and $60 for an unaltered one. The cat license schedule has no separate veteran rate. Section 10.08.115 defines a disabled veteran as a veteran with a disability resulting from a disease or injury incurred or aggravated during military service. No percentage is named, so any service-connected rating qualifies. The licensing duty in section 10.20.030 reaches owners living in the jurisdiction of the County's Department of Animal Care and Control. A city that runs its own animal services sets its own fees.
