Lorain County Veterans Service Commission: Rides to VA Care
A morning shuttle from Elyria and Lorain to the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center at Wade Park and the Parma VA clinic, and home pickups for the Sheffield Village VA clinic, first come first served, with wheelchair-accessible vans. Two no-shows bring a six-month suspension.

Every Ohio commission must arrange regular transport to the VA medical centres serving the county (Revised Code 5901.03(H); see the Ohio entry).
Wade Park and Parma. The Lorain County Veterans Service Commission's shuttle leaves the commission office (1230 North Abbe Road, Elyria) about 7:15 a.m., Lorain County Jobs and Family Services (42495 North Ridge Road) about 7:30, Valor Home (221 West 20th Street, Lorain) about 7:45 and the County Administration Building (226 Middle Avenue, Elyria) about 8:00, reaches Wade Park around 9:15, and leaves at 3 p.m. Times move with the passengers booked.
Sheffield Village. For the VA outpatient clinic in Sheffield Village the commission picks veterans up at home.
The rules. Book at 440-284-4624 or [email protected]; seats are first come, first served. Wheelchair-accessible transport is available, but passengers must otherwise be able to get in and out of the van with limited help. A caregiver may ride if VA has authorized the need, said at booking. Cancel as early as possible, preferably 48 hours ahead: two unreported no-shows bring a six-month suspension. No smoking, eating or drinking, seatbelts on, and no unscheduled stops.
