What the fund holds and pays. Logan County's 2026-2027 budget's Veterans Aid Fund (1900) held $13,316.10 on July 1, 2024, $13,427.63 on July 1, 2025 and $13,634.57 on July 1, 2026, its only receipts interest ($111.53 and $206.94), and paid nothing in either year; the county levies nothing for it. Each year's budget offers the whole balance as medical, hospital and client services: $13,427.63 for 2025-2026 and $13,634.57 for 2026-2027. The Board re-authorizes a Veteran's Aid Fund petty cash fund of $1,000.00, with a $1,000.00 limit on any one expenditure, each August (Resolutions 25-3, August 13, 2025, and 26-3, August 12, 2026). Who qualifies. Logan County posts no aid text. Section 80-102 lets the county veterans service committee aid a veteran, a spouse, a surviving spouse or a minor child in need; since LB1300 (Laws 2024, section 45) the veteran need only have served, been discharged honorable or general (under honorable conditions) or died in service, and lived a year in Nebraska and six months in the county. Apply through the Veterans Service Office, (308) 636-6157, on a Wednesday afternoon (see that entry); see the Nebraska entry on the county fund for the committee's discretion and the State's own aid fund, which the county's Veterans Service Board asked the Board to defend in January 2026.
