Livingston County Clerk: Thank A Vet Discount Card

The programme. The Clerk's Thank A Vet page: "This program is a way for our county to recognize the service and sacrifices made by our returning veterans. The 'Thank A Vet' discount program allows eligible veterans to receive an I.D. Card identifying them as an honorably discharged veteran. Participating county businesses have agreed to honor the card by providing the holder with a discount on purchases or services." The eligibility rules the page prints: the card is issued from the Livingston County Clerk's Office; the applicant "must be a qualified, honorably discharged Veteran of any branch of the United States Armed Forces"; the Official Discharge Papers (DD-214) must be on file in the Clerk's Office, and if not, "a Certified Copy must be presented prior to issuance of the discount card"; and the applicant "present[s] official government photo identification showing your Livingston County address." The Clerk's fee schedule itself prints no discharge line, so free DD-214 recording rests on Real Property Tax Law 291-i in the State entry; the card's DD-214-on-file rule is the Clerk's own.
