Lincoln County Assessor: Veterans' and Disabled Veterans' Exemptions

The Lincoln County Assessor (Cydney Dwire, 775-962-8075) administers the State's exemptions from the Pioche courthouse; the office publishes no exemption page of its own, and the Board's minutes show the disabled veteran applications being applied parcel by parcel - $21,081 of assessed value removed on one in November 2025.

Also called: property tax, assessor, NRS 361.090, NRS 361.091, Pioche, Cydney Dwire, Kathy La Joie, disabled veteran exemption, parcel.

For: Veteran or service member, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemptions are the State's, under NRS 361.090 for a veteran who served in a listed period or campaign and NRS 361.091 for a permanent service-connected disability of 60% or more; the Nevada entries explain them, including the rule that separate ratings are added together. The Lincoln County Assessor administers them at 181 North Main Street, Suite 203, P.O. Box 420, Pioche, NV 89043, (775) 962-8075, under Assessor Cydney Dwire with Deputy Assessor Kathy La Joie. The office publishes no exemption page: its site offers the assessment rolls, parcel maps, the tax roll and rates, and personal-property declaration filing, and no veteran-exemption text. The State entries carry the 2026-27 amounts ($3,640 of assessed value for a veteran; $18,200, $27,300 or $36,400 at 60%, 80% or 100%). What the record shows the office doing. The Board of County Commissioners' minutes of November 3, 2025 record item 15, a tax refund motion "to approve applying the Disabled Veteran 60-79% exemption with an assessed value of $21,081 to APN 003-184-04", which "will result in the total assessed value" of the parcel falling to nothing - the exemption at 60 to 79 percent covering the whole $21,081 parcel. The minutes of December 15, 2025 record item 26, "DISABLED VETERAN EXEMPTION ON APN 001-240-39", with a motion "to approve applying the Disabled Veteran 80-99% exemption". So the county's own record confirms both the exemption's assessed-value mechanics and that the Board processes the Assessor's applications by parcel, voted in open session.
