Liberty County (Texas) Veterans Transportation to VA Care

Liberty County Veterans Services drives veterans to the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston Monday to Thursday, leaving the Liberty VFW at 5:30 a.m. with stops in Dayton and Cleveland (936-402-8068), and to the Beaumont VA clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Liberty, Dayton, Ames and Raywood (936-402-8056), by appointment, for medical visits only.

Houston. The flyer (May 2024): "Liberty County will provide transportation to all veterans needing assistance to Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. *Transportation is provided solely for medical purposes to the VA Hospital. WHEN: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday (appointments only)." Pick-ups: the VFW in Liberty at 5:30 to 5:45 a.m., Brookshire Brothers in Dayton at 5:45 to 6:00 a.m., and the Cleveland Annex at 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. and the 7-Eleven at 321 and Houston Street (from May 1, 2024); the driver confirms the time. "PLEASE CALL Liberty County Veteran Services Transportation @ 936-402-8068." Beaumont. The flyer (updated March 2021): transportation "for all veterans needing assistance to Beaumont VA Outpatient Clinic", Tuesday and Thursday by appointment, from the VFW on Main Street, Brookshire Brothers in Dayton, the Wickliff Store in Ames and the Exxon in Raywood; call 936-402-8056. Both. "Care provider may accompany veteran only if there is adequate space available." The county budgets a part-time driver and fuel for the service (FY2027).
