Leon County Stormwater Assessment: 50% Credit for Disabled Veterans

Leon County's $85-a-year stormwater assessment on a single-family home in the unincorporated county carries a 50% credit for residents qualified as disabled veterans through the Property Appraiser, under section 18-134.4(f)(1) of the county code.

Also called: stormwater, non-ad valorem, assessment, TRIM notice, 18-134.4, credit, Tallahassee, unincorporated.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Leon County levies a stormwater non-ad valorem assessment on developed property in the unincorporated county; it appears on the TRIM notice and the tax bill. The rate for a single-family unit has been $85 a year since Resolution R13-20. The credit. The Board's July 14, 2026 agenda item adopting the roll: "Under Section 18-134.4(f)(1), LCC, the Board may provide a 50% credit to residents qualified as Low-Income Seniors or Disabled Veterans through the Leon County Property Appraiser's Office." The credit therefore follows the veteran's exemption status at the Property Appraiser; a veteran who holds a disabled veteran exemption there and lives outside Tallahassee's city limits should see the assessment halved, and should ask the county's Office of Management and Budget if it is not.
