Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Leon County's own grant, under its Policy 16-03: "Leon County residents who are called to active duty in direct support of a named United States military conflict or national emergency declared by the President of the United States can apply for a grant equal to that portion of their Leon County ad valorem property taxes prorated for the amount of time the resident served on active duty. The property owner will receive $600 or the amount of their ad valorem tax bill, whichever is greater. A $600 grant is also available to qualified Leon County active military personnel who are not property owners but are paying rent." How. The application (MilitaryGrantApp.pdf) and policy are linked from the Veteran Services grant programs page; the Division of Veteran Services, 615 E. Paul Russell Road, Tallahassee, 850-606-1940, takes them. Also on that page. Leon County's Veteran Service Organization Grant Assistance Program gives each county veterans organization up to $1,000 a year, or 20% of the programme's funding if greater, for capital improvements, repairs, transport or recognition activities that serve local veterans (Policy 16-07); it pays no individual.
